Eppign Young Guns Burn Woodies on the Way to Grand Final

Prodigy - 13 August 2007

Eppign Young Guns Burn Woodies on the Way to Grand Final Epping Under 19's became the first Rams team through to a Grand Final with a come-from-behind 13-12 win over Eastwood. The young Rams impressed early with solid defence and skilful attack to post first points through a try to breakaway TIm Morrow and a penalty goal to captain Dave Sutton. The Woodies came back with two tries to lead the game 12-8 with wave and wave of attack being repelled by some solid goal line defence from the Rams. With minutes to go and the game looking like slipping out of their grasp, the young Rams had one last chance to snatch an unlikely victory. Some good lead up play from reserve Matt Kladal and captain Dave Sutton had Eastwood in all sorts before outside centre Sam Attfield cross out wide to give the Rams the lead that would be enough to go through to the grand final. Next weekend, the Epping Rams Under 19's head back to Blackmore Park (Canal Road, Leichardt) to take on last year's premiers, Canterbury, for the Rugby Club Cup. All are welcome to come and cheer on the Rams.
